How to join
fIRST membership is open to any university. While individuals can not join fIRST, they can access the fIRST resources through their university's membership.
How to access the resources
Your university needs to be a member of fIRST. To find out if your university is already a member, check the list of Member Universities. If your university is listed, contact your representative to get your university's username and password. You can use this to access the resources on this website.
If your university is not listed, it is not yet a member of fIRST. Once your university has joined the Consortium, you will be able to use its username and password to access the fIRST resources.
How to join fIRST
fIRST Consortium membership is open to all universities interested in improving postgraduate research education. A senior staff member should initiate your university's application for membership. This might be the person responsible for postgraduate research studies or supervision development, eg. the Dean of Graduate Studies or equivalent or the Director of an academic staff development unit.
Steps to joining:
- Contact the Consortium Project Officer for details about payment and representative requirements
- Pay a Consortium joining fee of $7500 (plus GST for Australian members)
- Provide the name, position and contact details of your university's representative
- When the Consortium has received payment of your joining fee, your representative will be sent a university username and password
- Staff in your university can then use the username and password to access the fIRST resources.
Paying the joining fee gives your university access to the fIRST resources. Members may be asked to pay an annual subscription.
