Survey of supervisors
As part of the project a survey of supervisors in Australia and New Zealand was undertaken in July 2008. All 44 doctoral and masters by research awarding institutions in the two countries were invited to participate, and all but 4 agreed to undertake the survey . The object of the survey was to gather information on three broad areas of supervisor activities:
- The practice of supervision
- Training of supervisors
- The role of research in supervision.
The survey contained approximately 140 items and was completed by 1,884 supervisors making it one of the most extensive of its type undertaken in Australia or New Zealand.
An interim report on the survey can be found here. If you have any questions or quiries about the survey please contact Kevin Ryland, Project Manager.
